چکیده

Methylene blue (MB) is one of the toxic synthetic dyes that are being discharged heavily into water supplies. Hence, MB removal most important tasks for a cleaner supply. By using inexpensive, abundant, and easy-to-synthesize materials, superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles, which were synthesized co-precipitation method with polyvinyl alcohol graphite (SPION/PVA/GR), can be used to adsorb MB. The adsorbent was characterized FE-SEM, FTIR, XRD, VSM, BJH. entrapment efficiency on SPION/PVA/GR after 12 days 33.96 ± 0.37–42.55 0.39%, at 333.15, 310.15, 298.15 K, initial concentration 0.017–0.020 mg/mL. adsorption process considered spontaneous, endothermic, chemisorption, heterogeneous, or multilayer adsorption. When releasing K pH 3.85 7 days, release percentage ranged from 11.56 0.33 22.93 5.06 depending loading conditions mainly temperature following Higuchi kinetic model. Since this novel SPION-based adsorbent, optimization, different forms (i.e., thin film composite) should further researched.

Superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles: magnetic nanoplatforms as drug carriers

A targeted drug delivery system is the need of the hour. Guiding magnetic iron oxide nanoparticles with the help of an external magnetic field to its target is the principle behind the development of superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles (SPIONs) as novel drug delivery vehicles. SPIONs are small synthetic γ-Fe₂O₃ (maghemite) or Fe₃O₄ (magnetite) particles with a core ranging between 10 nm ...

Washing effect on superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles.

Much recent research on nanoparticles has occurred in the biomedical area, particularly in the area of superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles (SPIONs); one such area of research is in their use as magnetically directed prodrugs. It has been reported that nanoscale materials exhibit properties different from those of materials in bulk or on a macro scale [1]. Further, an understanding of the...

Systematic review: Superparamagnetic Iron Oxide nanoparticles as contrast agents in diagnosis of multiple sclerosis

Several MRI contrast agents (CAs) are used in medical diagnosis that gadolinium (Gd3+) is the most widely used as contrast agents. Unfortunately, its toxicity is due to its inefficiency. In this review, we discuss about the ability of SPIONs in MRI and application in Multiple Sclerosis diagnosis. Superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles (SPIONs) such as magnetite nanoparticles are used as goo...
